jonathan's family came to visit us for a couple of weeks. it was great to see all of them and catch up. kristin was able to spend some time getting to know everyone again. she loved putting stickers on papa's face!

things to do
there are tons of things to do here in san antonio. one thing we do a lot is go to seaworld. kristin loves to go see the "big fish."
this is a shot of jonathan in his cool, new glasses (thanks, noel!). ch. blancaflor passed them on to him when jonathan had prk surgery on his eyes.
kristin also loves to see the clydesdale horses at seaworld!

change of plans
we changed our minds on which house to buy! i'm sure that isn't a shocker to most people who know us well! the old house is a 2700 sq ft. plan, which is beautiful and extremely nice. however, we just didn't have peace about it. this plan is much smaller - 1584 sq ft. jonathan liked it the first time he saw it, but i was the one who was caught up in the bigger house. this smaller house is just much more practical and it is a better size for our small family of 3. plus, we were not looking forward to huge utility bills, maintenance, mtg payments, etc. so now we have a real peace about this smaller house. we can't wait to move in! it should be ready around the end of august. we will still have plenty of room for guests!
unfinished kitchen. if you go under the arch that you see to the left of the screen and then go right, that is where the master bed and bath are.
the kitchen looks out into the living room. the hall to the right is where the front door is, and you can barely see the archway on the right side there. that is where 2 of the bedrooms are.

ice cream and princesses
lots of swimming
new house
we are buying a house! i have to admit that there is some anxiety mixed in with our excitement! our house is being built in a nice neighborhood near the base. right now, jonathan's commute is about 33 miles one way, and with the price of gas these days.... moving closer to base was a no-brainer! it should be finished around mid-august. once it's done, we will have lots of room so if you are planning a trip to san antonio, please plan to visit us!

its been a while
i didn't realize that it has been so long since our last blog. instead of going back and trying to catch up on the last 3 months, here are a few pics from the last few weeks.
we are doing well here. i think we are finally adjusting to life in san antonio. jonathan's job has changed, and he's the chaplain at medina chapel. i like this much better because there are families in this service... i have a chance to socialize! and there are children for kristin to play with. jonathan is also in charge of the refuge which is a hang-out place for the tech trainees. it's a lot like the project 196 building on kadena. the first time i stepped in there, it kind of felt like home. however, i don't get to go very often. they have a Bible study there and it's hard for kristin to sit still.
kristin and i are finding our niche as well. God has blessed me with a few friends here and there. i'm still trying to finish my degree, and i'm trying not to get distracted by a social life! i'll need lots of prayers in that area!
anyway... we miss okinawa and our friends very much. the funny thing is that even if we returned to oki, many of our friends have been long gone from there, so we still wouldn't be able to see everyone that we miss.
hope you enjoy the pics!
