Shorebreak '07!

Jonathan went to Tokashiki for Shorebreak 2007. This was his last chance to hang out with the youth group for an extended period of time. It was awesome! As always, God did some amazing things in the lives of students and adults alike.

This is the main beach where we take the group to swim. The picture was actually taken on the way to the public beach, which is Jonathan's favorite beach in Okinawa.Team competitions on beach day.Jonathan in his West Virginia hat.

The ofudo... Many good conversations take place in this bath house. I guess it is a pretty vulnerable place to be. :-)

Bonnie Lambert and her construction worker husband, Dave. What an awesome youth ministry team they are for our teens on Okinawa!Amanda really got into super hero dress up night. She looks way too much like the real supergirl. It was her first youth retreat as a leader, and she rocked!

There are 92 people on this 45 passenger bus... It was all perfectly safe, though! I was driving :-).

Ed expresses the feelings of most of the staff as we ride the ferry back to Naha. He is another one who is simply amazing at connecting with the students.Kelcie, Dave and the Vanosdalls (Eric, Wren, and Peter) on the Ferry ride home. Peter is looking way too cool in the back!
The group, including our superhero mascots. They were hilarious. Their names were Insight, Oversight, and Hindsight, or "Heine" for short. 29 Azusa Pacific University students ministered to us during the week. Judging by their ministry to us and their attitudes on this trip, that must be a great school!
Buddy preached at Project 196 Sunday after we returned. It was really good to partner with him in ministry again, even if it was just for the week. We miss you, bro!

walkin' around

getting ready!

we went for a walk to the "zoo" near our house. okay, it really isn't a zoo. they have deer and lamas and ostriches and other animals fenced in. they are pretty gross. kristin thinks they're funny.
she really wants to feed them but they scare her a little!

our last spring in oki

here are a few pics to show what we've been up to lately. kristin started walking about a month ago, and she loves her independence. i like it too except that i have to teach her that she isn't quite as independent as she wants to be!!! anyway... we've been enjoying the okinawa sunshine before it gets so hot that we can't stand it. the park is our favorite place to be. kristin absolutely loves the outdoors!
