zamami!

this is our "photo album" of our recent camping trip to zamami island. i tried to put them in chronological order so in the top pics we look refreshed and ready to go. toward the bottom you'll see that we are getting tired! we had lots of fun, but we learned that camping with a non-walking infant is harder than we thought. plus, we didn't think to bring a pack n play for her to sleep in. ha. ha. no one slept! but, as you'll see, we saw some very beautiful places, and the time we spent with each other and our friends was well worth it!

all aboard! this is jeremy and peyton and jonathan and kristin.
this is our ferry. part of that writing says zamami, but i can't read the rest!
this is the bridge in naha that you cross to get to the wharf.
this is jeremy and lakasha and their son, peyton with jonathan and kristin. we were all excited about the ferry ride together!

these are a few pics that jonathan took on the ride to zamami. he says they remind him of pirate movies. they are beautiful!

these pictures are from the ferry ride to zamami. we were all having fun anticipating the trip!
this is a narrow street on zamami. there were houses on either side.

i don't think this woman wanted me to take her picture. she kept bowing her head. but she did talk to me when i pointed to her flowers and said "kirei" which means pretty. i didn't understand a word she said!
this is a japanese house. obviously this is an older one. there are only a few houses like this on okinawa, but there were several like this one on zamami.

isn't this breathtaking? that's jonathan's silhouette beside kristin in the stroller.
this is peyton. isn't he a cutie?
daddy and baby k are just waking up.
okay... i know i don't look so hot first thing in the morning. gotta have my coffee!
this is me before jonathan and i went snorkeling. you might want to put on your sunglasses for this one. my legs are pretty white! we did see some cool fish and beautiful coral before it started to rain.
yes, this is gross, but i put it here so you could see a typical, public japanese toilet. we call them squatty potties! and don't miss the huge spider there on the wall!

these are a few of our friends who went on the trip.

this is me and my friend, lakasha. we are having our morning coffee! yum!

franklin graham festival

this weekend we have been so blessed to have franklin graham here in okinawa. he has preached 3 nights in a row and each night hundreds of japanese people have come forward to receive christ! praise God! please pray that God will infiltrate this community with His Truth!

happy halloween!

this was punkindoodle's first halloween! yay! we dressed her up as a flower, and she really was a good sport. even though it was hot here (and the costume was made for the cool weather in the states) she wore her "hat." so cute!
