pizza in the sky

we met this japanese family on our way out. they were so nice, and their little boy is so cute!!!
this is my coffee. kawaii, ne?!
they gave kristin this adorable little chair to sit in.
this waitress came over and asked if she could take kristin. the other ladies working there wanted to see her. they ended up giving her the snowman.

okuma

this year we decided to "get away" at okuma after christmas. but okinawa is a small island. many of our friends had the same idea! we enjoyed seeing them.

mmmm... this cake looks good! wonder if mommy is watching?!?!?

opening presents

thanks for all the wonderful toys! she loves them all!

we won this 4 foot snow globe at a Christmas party. kristin loves it!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

kristin is learning how to brush her teeth!
sleeping in church... just like mommy!

here are a few pics of us enjoying the Christmas season with our sweet baby... and our friends. we truly hope you have had a great Christmas as well!

happy birthday, punkindoodle!

i just want to say thank you to everyone who was able to come to kristin's party today. we really appreciate you sharing this special time with us. being so far away from family is sweeter when you have great friends who can fill that void!

zamami!

this is our "photo album" of our recent camping trip to zamami island. i tried to put them in chronological order so in the top pics we look refreshed and ready to go. toward the bottom you'll see that we are getting tired! we had lots of fun, but we learned that camping with a non-walking infant is harder than we thought. plus, we didn't think to bring a pack n play for her to sleep in. ha. ha. no one slept! but, as you'll see, we saw some very beautiful places, and the time we spent with each other and our friends was well worth it!

all aboard! this is jeremy and peyton and jonathan and kristin.
this is our ferry. part of that writing says zamami, but i can't read the rest!
this is the bridge in naha that you cross to get to the wharf.
this is jeremy and lakasha and their son, peyton with jonathan and kristin. we were all excited about the ferry ride together!

these are a few pics that jonathan took on the ride to zamami. he says they remind him of pirate movies. they are beautiful!

these pictures are from the ferry ride to zamami. we were all having fun anticipating the trip!
this is a narrow street on zamami. there were houses on either side.

i don't think this woman wanted me to take her picture. she kept bowing her head. but she did talk to me when i pointed to her flowers and said "kirei" which means pretty. i didn't understand a word she said!
this is a japanese house. obviously this is an older one. there are only a few houses like this on okinawa, but there were several like this one on zamami.

isn't this breathtaking? that's jonathan's silhouette beside kristin in the stroller.
this is peyton. isn't he a cutie?
daddy and baby k are just waking up.
okay... i know i don't look so hot first thing in the morning. gotta have my coffee!
this is me before jonathan and i went snorkeling. you might want to put on your sunglasses for this one. my legs are pretty white! we did see some cool fish and beautiful coral before it started to rain.
yes, this is gross, but i put it here so you could see a typical, public japanese toilet. we call them squatty potties! and don't miss the huge spider there on the wall!
